Below are steps you can take to ensure your SEO strategy is successful. 

1. Create A Topic List.

Keywords are central to SEO, but they are no longer the first step towards achieving organic growth. Instead, the first step is to list the topics you want your content to cover.

First, list ten words and phrases related to your product or service. Then use SEO tools to research those words, determine their search volume, and develop meaningful variations for your business. It will also empower the blockchain pr firms

This way, you associate these topics with popular short-tail keywords but don’t dedicate individual blog posts to those keywords. 

2. Create A List Of Long-Tail Keywords Based On These Topics. 

This allows businesses to attract people with a wide variety of interests and concerns, ultimately increasing the entry points for people interested in what you offer.

Use long-tail keywords to create blog posts or web pages that describe specific topics within your chosen pillar. Together, all long-tail keywords cluster around the pillar topic. Search engine algorithms rely on relationships between clusters to connect users to the information they want.

3. Create A Page For Each Topic.

Regarding website and search engine rankings, ranking a page for a handful of keywords is nearly impossible. But this is where the rubber meets the road.

Using the pillar theme, you came up with, create a page or post outlining the topic using the long-tail keywords you came up with for each cluster in step 2. These pillar pages are essentially a table of contents that explains the main topic and educates readers on subtopics explored in more detail in other posts. 

4. Set Up Your Blog

Blogs are a great way to rank for keywords and attract users to your website. After all, every blog post is a new web page and an extra chance to rank in the SERPs. If your business doesn’t already have a blog, consider creating one.

As you write each blog post and grow your cluster, you need to do three things:

Don’t include the long tail keyword more than 3-4 times on your page. Google will no longer consider exact keyword matches as often as it used to. Also, too many instances of a keyword can alert search engines that you’re stuffing keywords to boost rankings, and you’ll be penalized.

Next, link to the pillar page you created for your topic. This can be done using your content management system (CMS) tags. Or as simple anchor text in the body of the article.

After publishing each blog post, link it to the parent pillar page that supports the subtopics. By connecting both columns and clusters in this way, you tell Google that there is a relationship between your long-tail.

5. Create A Consistent Blogging Schedule

Every blog post or web page you create doesn’t necessarily belong to a topic cluster. However, writing about relevant topics important to your customers to build authority in Google’s algorithms also makes sense. 

So make it a mission to blog at least once weekly. Remember, you are blogging first and foremost for your audience, not for search engines. So research your target market and write about what interests them.

6. Create A Link-Building Plan

The topic cluster model is a way to move SEO forward, but it’s not the only way to get your website content to rank higher. The first five steps were devoted to on-page SEO; link building is the main goal of off-page SEO. Link building is the process of attracting incoming links from other sources on the internet. Trusted sites that link to your content greatly impact your rankings.


Ranking on search sites can be difficult. Creating content focused on high-traffic keywords may seem tempting, but this strategy may not help you achieve your business goals.
